These are exciting times!

Getting new running shoes is such a happy day. Last week I ordered a new pair. Because my favorites have been upgraded to a new model, I was able to score a clearance pair of the old model for a very nice price. Now I can use my almost-worn-out shoes for short runs during the week and save my new ones for my weekend long runs. My new shoes sparkle next to the old ones.

The correct shoe is so important for runners. I know from personal experience that getting fitted at a running store and going with their recommendation is the best thing to do. My running store recommended shoes for me, which I purchased. I also decided on my own to get a pair of another shoe because I liked the way they felt. However, when I run, they give me blisters. Huge and horrible ones. It just isn’t worth it to run in them, and I ended up wasting a lot of money on shoes I can’t wear. The moral of the story: listen to your running store people. They know what they’re talking about.

I plan to head into my running store again soon to try out the new model. But until then, I’m happy with my old tried-and-true model. 🙂

I love getting a new pair of shoes! And isn’t it crazy how the old ones (that you didn’t use to think looked all THAT bad), next to the new ones, look awful???

The running store’s usually right (although I have a pair of Nike Structure Triax that were recommended, but ended up not being a great shoe for me that I now use for non-running general-gym-time shoes)!

I need new shoes, but I’ve been running in Newton’s and they’re so expensive! I know they look awful…am going to need to bite the bullet and just buy them! That will be a happy day!
